Dr. Ali Zentner received her undergraduate medical degree from McMaster University and completed her Internal Medicine Residency with an extra year of Cardiology training at the University of Calgary. Ali practiced Internal Medicine in Southern Alberta for five years with a particular focus on Cardiovascular Risk Stratification and the Metabolic Syndrome. While in Lethbridge, Alberta, Dr. Zentner was director of the Chinook Region Heart Failure Clinic and the Southern Alberta Obesity Clinic.
Ali was the medical expert on CBC’s hit television series “Village on a Diet” and a medical advisor to CBC’s LIVE RIGHT NOW campaign. She is also a regular contributor to the “Steven and Chris Show” , “The National” and “CBC News Network.”

In addition to a busy clinical practice that has spanned over a decade Ali is an avid writer. She has published The Weight Loss Prescription: A Doctor’s Guide to Permanent Weight Reduction and Better Health for Life. (Penguin Canada, 2013)
Ali has been practicing in West Vancouver since 2005 as a specialist in Cardiac Risk Management and Obesity. She is also the medical director of the Live Well Exercise clinics in the lower mainland. Dr. Zentner is a strong advocate for lifestyle intervention in the treatment of diabetes and hypertension.
On a personal note, Ali is an avid runner and triathlete. She has climbed Mount Kilimanjaro and cycled across Canada. Ali believes that life’s challenges indeed define who we are and being a positive example is indeed the most powerful therapeutic tool any doctor can have.
