A passionate global traveler, longtime citizen of the world, chief operating officer Cindy Pearson joined BC Technology Association in 2004 to develop new approaches that connect the technology sector with key stakeholders in government, the investment community and general public. She believes that the non-profit sector is just a tax category and always strives to operate as a for-profit business. Her innovative approach, dry sense of humour, proven business acumen, along with her impressive track record makes her a sought after mentor.
Cindy’s recipe for career success includes a deep appreciation for rock and roll, the uncanny ability to predict and stay-ahead of trends, and to always seek the advice of industry peers. A seasoned business executive for building profile and revenue for prominent industry associations, Cindy works tirelessly for BCTIA’s members that includes over 2200 companies and over 60,000 technology professionals across the province.
As chief operating officer, she oversees the operations of the organization, including finance, business development, marketing, communications, policy development and stakeholder relations. As a connector, Cindy is intensely involved in driving the association’s evolution as it marks its 20th year as the “voice of technology” for British Columbia.
Prior to relocating to British Columbia, Cindy held executive positions with several industry associations in Ontario, worked on the political front with the Ontario government, and owned several businesses.
Cindy’s educational background includes Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario.
