Tracy Huitika works in Business Development at MacDonald, Dettwiler, and Associates (MDA), where she defines, creates, and develops technology offerings for the Aviation market. She is also the VP of Membership of the Canadian Women in Technology (CanWIT) BC chapter. CanWIT is a national volunteer organization that encourages women to consider careers in technology and accelerates the careers of women already in the field by providing knowledge and support through various programs such as mentorship initiatives, networking events, professional development and advocacy.
Prior to her work in Business Development, Tracy was the Director of Game Development at Rocket Gaming Systems. She has a solid background in science and technology, and has spent the majority of her career in software engineering and management overseeing the development of game applications, math, and artwork and on military projects such as the Naval Combat Operator Trainer, the US Air Force Global Procedure Designer, and the CP-140 Synthetic Aperture Radar for the Canadian Air Force. Tracy’s educational background includes a Post-Baccalaureate in Computing Science from SFU, Physics at UBC, and a Bachelor of Science in Astronomy and Mathematics from the University of Manitoba.
Tracy lives in the West End of Vancouver with her partner and two babies. When she’s not changing diapers, she’s usually running around the seawall, playing soccer, or killing zombies late at night.
