The first time I heard Natalie Defreitas speak was at TEDxVancouver. I knew then and there that I had to follow up with this incredibly articulate and informed young woman who is passionate about a field most of us don’t carry in our daily repertoire of coffee date topics: restorative justice.
Natalie is a mental health counsellor, teacher, and justice consultant. In this interview, this young, exceptional woman tells me about her work with incarcerated populations, the issues facing the justice, mental health, and educational systems, and touches on the benefits of acknowledging both our unearned and earned privilege.
I truly hope you enjoy this interview! The theme continues on: we can all learn so much from each other!
